We often get asked what security measures we take to protect our servers.

Synchronized Hosting has procedures in place to keep our servers up-to-date and secure. This includes all security related updates and other updates to packages where there is an operational benefit to doing so.

Server Reboots

There are times when a security updates requires the restart of a server. Primary servers will be rebooted at 3 am Eastern (New York) Time. Backup servers will be rebooted at 2 am UTC. This will ensure that the Primary and Secondary server for your site is never down at the same time.

Please note that during these reboots we do NOT activate the Synchronized Failover system. These reboots are generally less than 5 minutes, usually in the 90 – 120 second range.

If this is unacceptable to you then you could use CloudFare DNS, which would serve a cached copy of your page during our reboot.

If neither option is acceptable to you, then you should not use our service.
